A Yarra Valley escape in a cosy, secluded cottage surrounded by nature.
Situated at the end of a gravel road you’ll truely feel far away from it all while only being a short drive from all that the region offers.
Featuring spectacular views over a local vineyard, wander the tracks meandering through the 50 acres of bushland and explore gullies teaming with wildlife. You’re likely to spot the black wallaby, lyrebird, echidna, wombat, wedge tail eagle, kangaroo and if you’re lucky a platypus.
The cottage is simple and comfortable with luxurious bedding and appointments. There is an expansive deck to enjoy the view while listening to the bird song and soaking up the complete serenity. Below the house you’ll find an atmospheric fire pit area to sit and contemplate the day.
Situated on a working farm, you will have complete privacy as you look over the grazing cattle below the cottage with the owners living on a separate property – although still nearby should you require assistance.
If you are interested in learning more about farm life, tours are available with the friendly farmer who will take you on a drive to feed the cows, check on the calves, get up close to the local kangaroos and explore some scenic parts of the farm.
Our location is the perfect base to explore the Upper Yarra Valley and the town of Warburton with it’s many attractions such as the Redwood Forest, Lala Falls, Mountain Bike Park, Warburton Rail Trail, Water World, numerous boutiques and cafes and of course the beautiful Yarra River winding through the town. The famous vineyards of the Yarra Valley along with the towns of Healesville and Gembrook are only a short drive away.
Viv’s Cottage is perfect for a couple on a romantic getaway, a group of friends as a base to explore the Yarra Valley, or for a nature loving family. Pets are welcome with a secure fenced yard surrounding the house.

At this stage, only dogs are allowed at Shacky. No cats or other animals are allowed. Your host reserves the right not to allow pets if they deem it inappropriate.
